Got gas? Not here.

Going to get gas this morning.
Tried yesterday but it was scary shit at the pump.
Lines, people screaming at one another.
I was fearful of some redneck from the outskirts pulling out a gun or something.
This is so frigging crazy. The damn Russians.

If not back by dinner time - send a search party.
Old lady and her old dog gone missing.
The southeast and east coast is under attack.

Just returned from 9 locations. No gas to be had. :-(
Can't go to work without gas. I have less than 1/2 a tank.
Can't get to people's homes to do our job without gas.
Gonna be a crazy few weeks I see.

This is the pipeline that supposedly feeds 45% of the east coast.
I could use scratchy cheap TP when Charmin was out. But I can't move my car for work or groceries without gas. I may need to invest in a wagon to pull behind my bike. Oh yea, I need a bike.

Hey, maybe we need to start drilling for oil. We can be the next Jed Clampett. I'll fight you to be Ellie Mae because I definitely don't want to be Grannie or Miss Hathaway...or a chimp. Well, maybe I could handle being a chimp.

Now there's a gas shortage? There always seems to be a shortage of something lately.

Do you NEED gas this weekend? If not, I’d wait it out. The shortage is now in delivery rather then not having the product. It is the people who just bought guns that are scaring me.

It makes me glad I don't have anywhere to go.

Mildred, I'll be granny. :-)

Jamie, only on the east coast.

Janette, I have 1/4 tank. Agreed with the guns!!

Bluzdude, I do need to get to the grocery store but may do ordering online even though I hate it. Not good for work though. Can't get to someone's home to do our jobs either.

Crazy! I was going to fill up yesterday but didn't. I live in the country so if you run out of gas you are screwed.

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

Yes but I don't think this will affect you. The line the Russians shut down feeds the East coast Georgia to the NY harbor.

One pipeline feeds the whole east coast? "What backup plan! We don't need no stinkin' backup plan!"

Mike the news said the colonial pipeline feed 45% of the east coast from GA to NY harbor. They could be wrong.
therefore making me wrong.

Well, this is great news. Don is here -- was supposed to get in at 5:30 yesterday but every leg of the journey was delayed he needed to be rerouted. He got in at near midnight. Now we need to worry abut getting gas as we drive home up the east coast. Life has gotten way too complicated and harsh.

Wow, I was wondering how this was going to pan out. Soooo sorry and hope they straighten it out SOON. Feel for those needing emergency services.

Olga, good luck. My neighbors and I can't find gas anywhere. I hear its bad in NC and GA as well. I think I may stay put if you can for a bit longer.

Patti, it seemed to happen so quickly to me. Rick has enough gas for 2 more days of work. He has 3 more work days sadly. Yes, can you imagine fire and ambulances?

My wife walked from our house to the waterfront. I drove and waited for her. I'm lazy. We have gas for now but......... Have a good day Peg.

I saw on TV people filling up plastic gas cans in the beds of pickup trucks. You're supposed to put the plastic cans on the ground to fill them. Otherwise, static electricity could make them explode.
And then there was the guy with 6 55 gallon drums in his pickup. Why are the gas stations letting people do that?

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

I'm in line and have been fir 30 minutes. People are cutting. I understand the rage. There are police here but they seem useless.

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

Olga i hear the pipeline will start up soon but will take a week or so to get the supply chain up and running. So you should be able make it home by then.

If it's not one thing, it's another. People are probably behaving badly in the lines because, after 4 years of Thing 45 and all the horror he brought to us, then the pandemic, a gas shortage is the last straw. People are turning into out of control animals. I still remember the gas shortage we had in the 70's but, though the lines were long, people were polite with each other.

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

Boots, I too remember the 70s gas shortage. Far nicer. I was in line for 42minutes...got to be number 2. Guy in front got the last of the gas. I wanted to cry.
