Rest In Peace

Since I have returned my life has been non stop crazy busy.
I am not fond of that anymore.
I look back and wonder how I did it all when I was younger, oh yea, energy.

My friend Gordon passed this week.
I wrote about Gordy when I went back to my hometown to see him.
I knew from how frail he was then that he wouldn't be long on this earth.
I sent him cards that were so filthy or inappropriate because I knew he loved that stuff. 

I got a text message 2 weeks ago before leaving for VT saying that last card made him laugh so hard everyone came running into his bedroom to see if he was okay. He wrote, "you are my favorite sicko!"
I can't delete it. 
If only laughter were the best medicine.

This is what Gordy looked like when I met him in the 70's.  That is Melanie with him. She is like a sister to Gordon. They grew up together. She lived with a single mom (father died) and Gordon was the loud crazy family next door with 2 boys who let her hang out with them. They truly are like brother and sister.

I don't recall when or where this was taken but I liked the picture because this was the first time I had seen him with a full head of white hair! Still good looking to me. And he was so kind and loving. He quit his corp gig and worked as a social worker for 21 years.

This was when I was up there 2 summers ago and rented the house over lake Erie. He looked so thin to me but said he was feeling fine. Now we know he was sick and just didn't know it yet.

This is how he always was - laughing...or making you laugh.

 I just like when he is a goofball, because well that was him. I got this picture from a friend. 

 This is at Melanie's home when his sons were visiting him after his diagnosis. The one on our left lives in Sweden. 
The one on the right lives in Delaware.

Both highly successful good people. 

This picture of Gordon kills me. He looks so small and frail. 

If there are angels he will be one. If there is a heaven he is there. If nothing else he left a big spot in all of our hearts who knew him. I don't know a soul who has met him or crossed his path who doesn't have kind words about him.
This one breaks my heart.  Love you Gordy.
