But here are just a couple while the sun was out.
Chris, my ex's youngest brother, had a beautiful home.
This was what I saw outside his huge picture window.
This was the side yard of his 28 acres.
This below was when I was standing on the side of Betty's house looking toward the lake. They live on a hill and sure have a nice view.
This was standing at the top of Betty's driveway. I just finally saw some color so I had to take this before it rained again.
This was taken my first morning there alone. This is what they refer to as The Camp. I grew up here. I spent every summer from age 17 to 27 here, every Thanksgiving and every free day we could. It was a bit eerie. We even spent one week out of our 2-week honeymoon there. That morning before the sun tried to come out I sat here drinking coffee and just enjoying the smells of the all the pines and the woods. It was glorious. Could I live this rural? I am beginning to think I'm old enough to love it now but also too old for it now. Huh, that's a head scratcher.
And this is why I never post my ugly mug here. But this is Betty. She will be 86 next month. I haven't seen her since she was in her 50's. She has never seen me chubby or with short hair. It was a surprise that made her cry. (and not because I am no longer young and cute) She was so surprised and it was lovely.

Great pictures.
I'm glad you were able to go and that your surprise made Betty happy.
Also, you look fine. Who are worried about impressing anyway? Ever occur to you that everyone who loves you loves YOU? :)
Have a lovely day. :)
PS
If it's someone who dosn't love you, then you really don't care anyway, right? Who cares what they think?
Ami, thank you. Yes, my hubby says it all the damn time.
Hard to get to that place for me Ami. But I thank you.
Wonderful views from your Vermont trip. But is there a bad view in the state? I think not.
The thing about growing older is we all hope it happens to us, but with it comes the changes to our bodies that take some getting used to. We see our own flaws but overlook or don't see them in others. Go figure....
What a gorgeous setting! Beautiful fall trip for you - nature and otherwise.
That's a cute picture of you and Betty, what a fun surprise after so many years. Thanks for sharing this!
You look like the same cute Peggy that I met a few years back. When you get back to your 80's look, let me know how you did it.
Jean, I'm with you, there are nothing but beautiful vistas there.
Mike - I'm working on my 70's look actually. I'll let you know. It isn't coming along as fast as I'd like.
I don't know why you say that about yourself! You are so cute! man I'd love that view on the deck. Sign me up. Oh wait it snows there.
I think I could live in the country full time. It would be a big change and I'd have to get use to it again but for those views, I'd try.
Julie, I love the view. No Costco, no stores near by. It is so rural. I am not sure yet. I may have to just jump and try it.
Barbara - BIG Change. I may have to come retirement time. I'm such a city girl :-)
You are so cute and so wrong about yourself!! Please post more pic ... you are adorable and it is so fun getting to know and SEE you!
Ann, I hate it all, but thank you very much.
I could become glued to my chair enjoying the view from the deck. So glad your visit meant so much to Betty. Both of you looked great. You are cute--get over it.
Patti - that made me laugh! thx.
I agree with everyone here: I also think you are cute, high time you just accept it and move on to something else. (Haha, my therapist would laugh reading this...).
I’m happy for Rick and for all of us here that you’re back home posting nice pictures and stories again.
And I also live the smiles on the last picture !
Jade, thank you AND your therapist!!!
I'm with Patti, get over it. None of us are as cute and thin as we were. As long as you're healthy, etc. That being said, I think you look lovely. And so does Betty, I would've guessed her to be in her 70s! The scenery is incredible. I think you'd be happy in the country with Rick and Izzy by your side. Glad you're back and blogging. You were missed.
I agree with all the above comments. You are just gorgeous so get over yourself 😀😀
You are definitely NOT chubby, and you are definitely beautiful, so it's always fun to see your huge smile. Betty sure doesn't look 86 either! Vermont is one city I've never visited, but I sure hope to check it out one day when they have snow, and I love those pics! Hugs...RO
Ro - Vermont is a state, not a city. Oh c'mon I had to. I"m a sarcastic little wench. Oh and I made more jelly, this time REALLY hot like I wanted the first time. That was the most popular. Brought some to VT and they loved it and saved the 2nd jar for Sunday football.
