Rants and Roll.

I am mentally fried.
I have been fighting this battle with the VA Employment Commission ever since we fired Gary in Dec 2017.

Today the woman took such an attitude with me.
I asked how to close this account. It should have been done by the company doing our payroll who we fired as well.
She said that she didn't give a darn who should have done it, it is open and you did not file. I said I did not file because I don't have any employees. I also never had paperwork to file. How would I do that if I never did it? (I did not ask that) But I never received anything about filing, only that I didn't file.

She then said to me and this is exactly how and what she said, "If you have employees and you are lying to me you are in big trouble"
Oh did she ever have a nasty tone with me.
I told her I did not appreciate being spoken to like a 10-year-old.
I would like to discuss this matter as adults, please.
She hung up on me.

So the problem isn't resolved. The problem will go over forever now.
God how I hate people.
Especially those in government making boatloads of money and a pension.
I can't afford to cop an attitude I am self-employed. I had to be nice and yet she still was a @#$! and hung up on me. She will probably get a raise.
Argh!

And the rants go on.
I had to get an email/fax to a condo association.
Condo's are a royal pain in the ass.
They require you to fax/email your certificate of insurance from your insurance company. (COI) All of them want certain things and certain verbiage.
None are the same. Even though the form is the same. Yeah, crazy.

This condo in Reston we no longer will ever do work in again. But this customer has been a good customer for several years so we can't let him down. He is a contractor and this is his home. He is leaving because this condo assoc is as he stated to me, "a big pain in the ass"

I called the woman I deal with at the insurance agency and she sent the COI to them. I never heard that there was an issue until late yesterday. The customer was contacted and told they would not hold the loading dock for us and we couldn't do work unless this paperwork was done correctly and they have it back by 5pm.

I called the condo association myself and asked what was wrong.
I got all the bullshit they wanted. Then I called the insurance company to have it resent. Then today the young twit at the condo assoc. asked for my worker's comp. policy information. I told her that because I no longer have employees that I don't have workers comp. The person coming to do the work is an officer of the company, which means they can't have workers comp in the state of VA.
She begins to argue with me. When she was done I told her something would be sent. That made her happy and we said our goodbyes.

I then went online and got the verbiage stating everything I just told her but she did not believe. I put in all very nicely in a box on a form and sent it.  That made her happy. Head scratcher right? Same exact thing I said to her.

I sometimes feel as though these condo personnel were all abused in high school. You know the band geek who got slammed into the lockers. So now they have some power and everyone is going to pay. And boy do we ever have to pay.

As of this moment in time, we are still going round and round with them for their certificate of insurance.
We will never have to go back to this place again after this job. I have to try to remember this. Just get this job done!!

I can't even fathom how awful it is to live there. According to the man who we are doing the work for it is as bad as I think.
I also can't fathom paying over a million dollars for a condo and then they make your life a living hell. You can't work on your condo unless they approve it. I couldn't do condo life. I just couldn't. Besides if I had a million dollars to buy something it would be atop a hill where no one could find me.
No phones, nobody but Rick and my dog.
Sounds good about now.

Oh how awful to have to deal with idiots. Unfortunately, that's what is going on with people today especially since Trump came into this world. People no longer respect one another. Peg, it's like a waste of time to try to get things done. Rest my friend and go get a drink. See ya.

It's good for me to be reminded about condo wows and rules. Just Sunday I went past a new complex and was day dreaming that I belonged there. I hope you get everything straighten out before you loss your mind or become a wino.

tee hee, too late Jean for the wino. But losing my mind is accurate. I just got confirmation via email that they are accepting this last fax. Then I had the pleasure of her calling me. She wasn't thrilled by the N/A the insurance person put in the box but she said, "she'll deal with it." How nice of her to only call me to share that tidbit. With a smile in my voice I thanked her for her help. (Yeah, I lied but what could I do?) Yes, every time I think about a condo I will think about this place. But they all can't be like this can they? I think these are just rich snarky people.

As I've said before, condo/homeowner associations = OCD on steroids.

Now a days it would be difficult to deal with such type of peoples. When they have no idea about what we ask they just shut down the call with no reason. They also avoid us when we go in person. It would be a terrible one...

I'm back from Belize!!! Loved it!

I know it's not the same thing but my daughter's OBGYN doctor's office is driving me crazy! I have the high deductible plan - pay deductible and that it). So apparently this doctor's office wants to put us on a payment plan - ummm why - I have insurance and it will pay. Baby is due in January - ok and - well that is when the big bill is due - ok and again the problem - they are afraid they want get paid. I told them look I will still be at my job - I have the money in my FSA that will pay them and chill out. While I was gone she had a doctors appointment again they asked her for a payment!!!!!!!!!!

April, glad you had a nice time in Belize.
I don't understand the issue except that you don't feel you should be paying. Hell I've had 8 gynos/in 10 years. I end up getting letters that they no longer will accept insurance. Most doctors here don't accept any kind of insurance period. So then I find another dr who takes my insurance and it happens again. Eventually this trend will be everywhere and with the doctors revolting because insurance isn't paying them and or because they aren't getting paid enough. For example my one doctor said she charges say $250 for the exam. The insurance pays her only $95. That isn't enough to pay the cost to rent the space, the office staff, giving them insurance etc. So she had to let go of insurance. My husband's doctors have all done the same except 1. They keep screwing with insurance as they are doing it will eventually get to smaller markets like yours, it appears to be why they are asking for payment up front. Everyone tells me they have the money, don't worry, but when it comes time to collect, Oops! no money. So I see both sides of this coin for you. They may just want a small amount at the visit to offset the fact that they know they won't get paid. I get it.

I'm guessing this conversation did not begin with a notice that the conversation may be recorded for quality control purposes.

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

Olga, you can bet that is correct.

A million dollars for that pain? No thanks, I'll take our freedom shack.
Just get the job done, get it done!

Abby, I would live somewhere far better for a million dollars. I sure wouldn't be sitting on top of the neighbors. :-) I like that phrase, "freedom shack" I'm stealing it.
