As you all know being stuck in this stupid chair has given me way too much time for tv.
There are many many commercials where the background music is Boomer music.
*Van Halen's Panama is for a truck commercial.
*My fave is Thunderstruck by AC/DC for Starbucks
*Then a commercial that made me smile, Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild for WeatherTech. I want to go on a trip with these broads. When the one won at Bingo and she flashes the men I was howling.
BUT, the biggest earworm is the VW Van commercial.🎶Are ya having any fun?🎵
The name of the song is a Life Half Full. My God that one sticks in my head. I'm sure you've all heard it by now.
Which brings me to The Voice.
I watch this show and both Rick and I noticed the big majority of the music these kids sing to audition is music from my time before they were born. I found that interesting.
Then as we do nightly, we watched Jeopardy. The category was Billboard or some such music reference like that.
Mony, Mony was the answer, we both yelled, who is Tommy James (& Sondelles) But, we were wrong. It was Billy Idol.
That made us both laugh. Yes, Billy Idol did remake it in the 80s or 90s. We said we won that by a technicality and laughed at ourselves.
So that's the music from my chair. Then I put on my earphones and just close my eyes to my Pandora.😉

As one of the Silent generation and also being one who mutes commercials, I recognized only one of the songs mentioned: Born to be Wild. In your situation, I'm happy that you are finding amusing things on your TV. What does Pandora present to you?

This reminds me of once when I lived in a neighborhood known for its older citizens, I was in the grocery store and I was shocked to hear "Don't Fear the Reaper" over the store's music system. Like it was tailor-made for this clientele. And when did Blue Oyster Cult become acceptable background music for picking out produce??

Yes. I find "Are We Having Any Fun" popping out in conversations - especially political - all the time now. Also, love the Born to Be Wild ad. I remember seeing the movie in 1966 (?) and who my date was, which was our first and only date. No wonder there is no room in my brain to remember anything nowadays if this is the info being retained.
