Day 8, Sunday, we thought she awoke as a puppy.
Holy Shit was she her ole self!
Her eyes were bright and she was bouncing around like she used to.
She jumped on our bed at 6:15am. She hasn't done that in over a year!
She barely napped all day. 30 minutes was her top nap.
She was just active but we humans sure didn't want to be so active Sunday.
Typical right?
Sunday, she went up and down the stairs a couple of times.
(No begging her to.)
She went swimming, chasing after her bumper in the water.
She played Chuck-It. She played with her BFF Libby.
Libby's owner said, "wow Izzy hasn't been this active in a long time"
Oh, we know, and she is making up for lost time.
She behaved like she just awoke from a coma.
I am so happy about all of this. When they tried giving her Rimadyl last year we had to constantly manage her liver and kidneys because it had such bad side effects. This has none. I am thrilled this is working so well.
Because honestly that medication just didn't help a whole lot, some, but not enough.
The treats smell awful and I imagine taste awful to humans.
My crazy husband took a teeny bite and spit it out. Dufus.
He said, "ooh these are gross" Gee, big surprise they are for dogs!
Thankfully Izzy loves them. She thinks they are treats and that is all that matters.
As all Labradors are prone to, food is their big love other than their humans.
The vet is scheduled to call us this week.
I can't wait to report the change in her.
Hopefully, this is all that is needed and her Lyme did not come back.
She sure isn't acting like it right now that is for sure.
I wonder if we took the cannabinoid capsules for humans if we would feel this much better. Gee, not having hip or knee pain, which is constant for me, would be heavenly. I may not jump on the bed but not having pain 24/7 would be lovely. It'd be even better if it made Betty (mass in my eye) go away but it doesn't work like that. But a gal can dream about getting her eyesight back can't she?

Everyone I know who uses a form of marijuana for physical issues reports an amazing amount of change.
I use a topical cream on one of my ankles that helps quite a bit.
If you can try it, you definitely should.
Happy to hear your dog is doing well. Our vet wouldn't even let us try Rimadyl, he said it's so bad for Labs that he won't prescribe. We got her Synovi G-3, which helped SO much!!
::sniffle::: I still miss her.
Ami, I have not heard of Synovi G-3. But I wish more vets would tell people all the awful things Rimadyl does to dogs so they would quit prescribing it so quickly. The vet before this one had her on such a high dose and we found it was her ACL, not arthritis. We stopped going to her immediately.
It's all legal where you live so I imagine it is all easier to get. I fear some of the things online. But I am going to try anyway.

Wow, you can't beat what you see with your own eyes. Glad Izzy is feeling better!
For a while I was getting almost daily an email notice that I qualified for some CBD (I think that's it) study. I don't know on what basis I qualified but now I wonder if I should have paid attention. Maybe it was because I had Lyme disease this past summer.
Wow pass those capsules my way, I could do with a burst of energy like that. Glad Izzy is doing so well.

As a medical marijuana patience, let me tell you. Unfortunately the best pain is the stuff with THC, but th CBD stuff still makes a huge difference. If you are in a state where they have human trials, I would try it.
Rimidyl is fine for end of life issues when liver and kidneeys are already on the way down, we used that for both of our sixteen year old dogs happily. But with a healthy dog in pain, not so much.
Oh yea, and the topicals man, they smell of good stuff like arnica, not bad cold selley stuff like ben gay.
Barbara, One can't give THC to a dog, only her parents. :-)
Since nothing is legal here we can't get squat let alone topicals. So very silly as well as foolish.
