You've Got To Be Kidding!

Remember the fall I had?
I wrote about it on May 8th.

Well, it is still incredibly painful so I tried to go to urgent care but was turned away and told to make an appointment. When I went online they weren't taking any for a few weeks, or had no openings. This is an 'Urgent' care. Not very Urgent to me.
This happened at 2 different places. So I figured, it's no big deal, just a bad sprain, let it go. But it continued to hurt like hell. The other day I walked a great deal and then I was in a lot of pain. But I'm whining so much I tried to just let it go. No big deal.
Push through as is my motto.

Rick convinced me to go to my primary care. I did go on Thursday. I had an X-ray and it's broken. Imagine that.

When it rains it pours. What the #$@! kind of black cloud am I under?

Honestly if I don't laugh I'd jump off a very high bridge.

She is sending me to an ortho. Because she is referring me she expects me to get in on Monday or Tuesday. In the mean time I am to wear a boot. Which is very nice and hot, which is awesome in summer.😝

I think I'm going to go to my bed and not leave until this black cloud leaves!!
Or maybe go to bed with the covers over me until 2023.

Rick and I are going to a local art show of local artisans on Friday (today) It will be a lot of walking so my boot will be on.
Life goes on. 😁

Okay, now I'm pissed. What kind of "Urgent Care" has no openings for a few weeks if at all??
I'm glad you eventually got your answer, but sheesh.

You've been walking on a broken ankle for 6 weeks? Geeze-louise! If it weren't for bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all lately...

Somebody needs to look up the meaning of 'urgent'!! Take care of yourself. Turn up that AC and get under the blankets.

OMG, you were walking on a broken foot? Your pain tolerance is way too high. Sure hope your ortho can fix you up. Though a walking boot isn't too bad. At least it is removable for bathing.

May 8th until now? The bone might be healing in an offset position. That means they'll have to break it to reset it. Good luck.

Oh my God Peg. Broken. I'm so sorry my friend. One of these days, the sun will shine for you. I'll pray for that soon.

Walking around all that time with a broken bone! Wow, that really sucks. But honestly I can see why the urgent care wouldn't take you. Since you waited several weeks before coming in they can say it really wasn't urgent. I broke bones in my foot years ago and spent weeks in a case and on crutches in the summer heat so I can really sympathize with what you've got ahead of you.

Wow, they must not have many Urgent Care facilities in your area....I've never heard of waiting for weeks to get into one. Good luck on the broken bone, and so sorry it happened in the summer. Great meme on the hot mess, which seems like it was made just for you :-)

Ahhh, Margaret? If you stay in bed, you might ask Rick to add some safety netting around it. With your recent luck, you probably would roll off and damage something else! 🙃

Yes, I am being silly. Mostly! Being in a cast during the summer stinks. Had that honor for 10 weeks in 1974 (Los Angeles, no A/C). I broke my left ankle and generally did a good job of messing up my left leg. :-( Hope everything goes well for you now. At least you have A/C and know a good HVAC technician--just in case!

Abby, one actually said to someone who walked in with a baby in their arms they weren't taking babies. What?

To all - we have a shit ton of urgent cares. I don't get it. They even have ortho groups who have their own urgent care. Sadly I didn't know of this before Monday June 27th. I am still adjusting to this area. I don't understand this one though.

Patti, I don't think my pain tolerance is any tougher than yours or anyone but Rick's. I have been in amazing pain but honestly I am tired of whining. I am tired of this all and truth be told I am now in a dark place. So when I did complain Rick kept saying it's just a sprain, it takes weeks Margaret. He made it sound like he too was sick of me saying anything so I just kept thinking it would get better. Finally, I called because I couldn't take the pain any longer. That was my limit with out any alcohol or drugs! :-)

Taja, everyone is telling Rick to put me in a bubble or bubble wrap me. The boot is very hot but it could be worse I suppose. I can take it off from time to time unlike a cast.
