Hall Pass

I am having major stress with the directories to our website and then our website went down. I worked last night until 9pm.
This morning I started at 7am. Tell me again why being self-employed is so much better?

Anyhoo Rick and I were watching something on TV last night.
It was the show This Is Us.
The character Kevin took a young woman out and there in the midst of her date she says she can't go through with it.
You see he tried to kiss her and he was shocked when she pulled away from him. He arranged the date to be at the Hollywood Bowl and they were the only 2 in the audience and he arranged for John Legend (her favorite) to be singing to her. (insert swoon)

She tells him that she is married and that he was her "hall pass"
But she just can't do it.
Well, we all know what a hall pass is right?
So she tells him she thought she could do this but she just can't.
She leaves to go home to her husband.

I say to Rick, I get that I really do. I am not certain I could go through with it either. Agreed hall pass or not.
I mean I love Gerard Butler but I don't think so. I adore him in the movie PS I Love You but you know that character is really just him being YOU.
He laughed and asked, "seriously you don't think so huh?"
Then he quickly added, "Babe, I'm telling ya, if Selma Hayak makes a pass at me, I'm outta here!"

I was not expecting that and I laughed so hard I began to cough.
Yes, ole Selma is his hall pass.
Good Luck with that my potbellied stallion.
We do run in the same circles now don't we?

Hall Pass Eh?

I'm pretty sure that I could not do that. I'm built different. My man however, I believe, would take that pass and run. He's a big Charlize Theron fan...that'd prolly do it for him.

Yes Linda we are of the same ilk. No can do! But you saw what Rick said, I bet the Boy Scout would run toward Charlize as well. IF you gave him a hall pass that is.
Men are so different!! Rick can't run to Selma, he'd hurt himself. So the old man will walk slowly while she waits for him. Oh, I crack me up.

Paul, so you'd be okay with your wife going off with her celebrity hall pass? Good for you! Just remember you get one too. :-)

Sweetpea and I have our hall passes pre-approved. She gets George Clooney, Robert Downey Jr and Jesse L Martin. I get Tina Fey, Charlize Theron and Julie Bowen. Not set in stone though. We can still negotiate.

I am convinced that the "hall pass" was originated by men for they knew guys would take advantage in a minute and the wife wouldn't so they couldn't lose. Gotta give them credit for that one.

bluzdude, I was reading comments via my phone and my husband asked me what I was reading so I read your comment out loud. He said, Ooh good list except Julie Bowen. I laughed and said it's his list babe, not yours. Then he said, "oh yea, good list there bluzdude. :-)

Patti - I am certain it was a mans idea. And yes, ya gotta give it to them. I have no fear he will ever meet Selma. I also have no fear that Selma would want him. (sorry ricky)

So funny. I've been divorced so long it's hard to remember being married but I don't think I could have done it. Although, after we split up the wife in a couple we were good friends with told the ex she had a hall pass. I always wondered if her husband really knew. We were young and stupid but I don't think her husband was that stupid.

Barbara do you think she was serious? or like Rick and I joke about our hall passes?
