Shh, I'm taking over

Hi folks....I'm taking over for Peggy today.
She's busy and I really am not doing much, lying around, swimming, napping. The regular.

I heard her talking to my big strong man, Rick. Oooh, how I love him.
Every time I am with him my mom sings some old song from the '60's.
I love him, I love him and where he goes I'll follow, I'll follow.
I will follow him where ever he may go.....
She can't sing a lick either but she sings that damn song and she amuses the hell out of herself.

I know my mom gets upset that I favor him so much but what's a girl to do?  I am just so smitten with him.
Oh, sure she spoils me with love, giving me cooked carrot treats and worries about me, takes me to the vet and all that. But Rick is well, the love of my life.
I told him I could have all his babies at once so he should dump her but I guess he likes her. So I've had to adapt.

I admit it. I do actually like her. When she's not here I wait at the window for her to come home. But it's not the same as with him. But I throw her a bone every now and then. See? I'm waiting for her here and when she got home I gave her lots of lovin' but then I went and sat next to Rick. Have you seen him? He's cute and he plays rough with me and I'm a girl who likes it rough. Peg won't do that. But when I'm sick I want her. But don't tell her that, she'll get a big head or sing some dumb song as she is inclined to do.

I heard her telling him that I sure am changing in my old age.
A bit more stubborn she said. He said, "Oh don't I know it."
How dare he!
She went on and on about how vocal I've become.
Well, if they would just do what I want I wouldn't have to be so vocal.

I was on the boat with Rick and he was fishing.
He wasn't catching anything and I became frustrated so I had to say something.
I talked and talked  - then he caught a fish. See?
I'm not getting stubborn, just smarter.
I was motivating him to catch those damn fish.

He took this video of me this past winter. It was at my local swimming hole a few blocks away in the neighborhood.
When we are done swimming I like him to throw my toy on land a few times before we go home.
But then he wants ME to bring it back to him.
So the love of my life apparently is lazy!!
He wants me to retrieve it, bring it to him - like right up to him for Pete's sake. He should walk and get it, he too needs to lose a few pounds.
was trying to help him with that. I thought if he ran and got it or even walked and got it from me it would be good exercise.
But no, he wasn't listening so I had to talk back.

I was just talking back to him to help him but did he appreciate it?
No, he was having none of it. Boy, these humans are damn hard to train.
But I won't give up.  I'm tenacious like that - not stubborn.  Here that? There's a difference you know.

I'll keep you posted. I hope the next time I won't have to do that but if I have to I will keep talking back to him to get my point across.
You know maybe he's cute but just slow or somethin'.

Izzy, don't give up. Make him come to you. He needs the exercise.

Izzy - Levi the Mighty Schnauzer here. I live with the Jean at the Missadventures of Widowhood blog. I used to keep my own blog but my human got tired of me getting kibble all over her keyboard. Humans are SO hard to train. Keep working on getting your male human to walk a little farther to pick up your toy. I'll keep my paws crossed that one day he'll catch on. Sounds like you have a big responsibility there, keeping your female human from getting jealous. I don't blame her, though. You're pretty cute.
