This is my 3rd attempt at posting today.
It's cool and rainy today and it makes me want to go crawl into bed with a good book.
Sadly I must work.
Some random items to finish out my week.
- James got kicked off American Idol so now I don't give a hoot who wins and I won't be watching it anymore this year. They are all 16,icky, sappy,country and just plain yuk. (how about those great adjectives kids?)
- What the hell does Blogger do with all the posts that were lost? Where do they go? And why can't blogger get it together so they aren't down so often?
- Thinking of moving the blog to a website. Anyone do that? Easy transition? What is lost when you do that?
- I am craving ice cream....dieting so no ice cream for me. I keep seeing dairy queen commercials with oreo blizzards. Speaking of Oreo's did you see their new one? Oh my goodness. Thankfully I'm dieting because I would buy those so quickly. Oreo's are the only store bought cookie I like... err....I love.
- Bristol Palin changed her story about her face. Now she is saying it was jaw surgery for her teeth because they didn't meet. Apparently her jaw was misaligned. Funny, I had the same issue but they gave me braces and a metal plate that went under my tongue to push the jaw. If I had known a face lift would have fixed it I sure would have gone that route.
If you don't know about this coffee maker it will make a cup at a time. You get a large selection of coffees as well and a little stand to hold them in. It makes tea and hot cocoa as well as great coffee. We had tasted the coffee one day while at Costco and he has been wanting one ever since. I told him this was a sure sign of getting old. To want a coffee maker over a concert is the official sign of old age. He laughed and said, "sadly I think it is a HUGE sign but I still want that damn machine" It looks like this...
Costco had a great price as well as including the stand which when I went online I saw was extra.
Something about buying him something this practical seems well, not quite right.
It's like getting socks and underwear for Christmas from your Grandmother. Who wants socks and underwear? If I do get him this it's more like something for both of us not him alone. His birthday is his alone and his gift should be as well. I have to come up with something soon his birthday is Thursday. He did ask me to bake him Beer Cake so that is his alone. (damn it!)
I know he'd love a date with Sophia Vergara as a present but that ain't happening! Poor fella.

I have the Keurig and I love love it!!! The only complaint I have is when you turn it on, it takes what seems like forever for the water to heat to brew. But once it's ready you can make a ton of cups. It's only about a minute, but it seems longer sometimes. I love trying all the different coffees though. Gloria Jean is my favorite.
Although Dunkin Dounuts are coming out with those K Cups this summer!! I can't wait to buy them.
I'm not much for these gadgets but I still say go for it and get it for him. If he's anything like my hubby,he'll say that he liked what you got him if it's not what he wanted. Then he'll complain about not getting what he wanted and go out and buy it.
My daughter has a Keurig and loves it. The toffee flavor IS wonderful! I'm to cheap to get one.
Ummm, wouldn't you be attending the concert with him? That would make tickets NOT exclusively his, right? (something for both of you)
In my cheapo opinion, the coffee maker would last longer than the concert. That's how my mind works!
Ms. A - does it help that I don't really like this group? I'd be going for him. Kind of like when he went to see Cher with me. :-)
I know, I know, a gal who loves AC/DC and Cher. I am not typical.
Mamma - no Rick isn't like that. if he didn't like it he'd tell me. but I've been around long enough to know what he likes. :-)
Too funny about a sign you're getting old! I got concert tickets for my birthday but I went with my parents haha. Regression?
I don't have a coffee pot like that but it seems like kind of a waste of all the little containers. I've been hanging out with my little hippy friend at work too much lol.
Peg....my son and his wife have a Keurig, and when we visit we use it! We love it! It's very convenient....and we like our coffee on the mild side, so we use a huge mug, and hit the button twice, and it makes us the perfect big cup. It's pretty pricey for the boxes of cups, though. I think most places they run about $20 for a box of 18 or so. Our son has more money than God, so they don't mind. They also make at least 3 runs to the nearby Starbucks EVERY day, so they really don't mind the pricey-ness of it. But my hubby and I could never afford all those little cups, cuz we drink coffee all day long!
Do you or Rick just drink one or two cups a day, cuz then it wouldn't be too pricey in the long run.
It is really convenient though! And makes a GREAT cup of coffee.
Regan - Rick and I only have coffee in the morning. I think this machine may change that though. Yep the cost is the killer. I have a friend who bought a high end car - the cost of said car wasn't the problem it was the cost of the up keep that was killer. he ended up trading it in because of that. I think this might be that type of thing.

im a coffe lover and have thought about buying one of these but i drink A LOT of coffee (sometimes 6-8 cups a day) so it would get kinda pricey for me.
also, ive been meaning to tell you: i checked out Room but could not get into it. neither could jay. we thought the way it was narrated by the five year old was kind of irritating. your thoughts?

Pros: Fast for mornings on-the-go, easy and no real clean up, yummy every time, posh (yes, posh) all my friends have one and I'm cooler cuz mine has the blue light as in the pic you posted (the water reservoir lights up blue as well), there are a ton of flavors (chai, hot chocolate, coffee, tea).
Cons: expensive if you drink more than 2 cups a day (buy the K cups from costco for the love of god, no more waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, not ideal for serving lots of people at family get togethers.
If you get one, save your old coffee maker for parties.

I would never get rid of my grind and brew since it works perfectly fine. We don't drink more than 2 cups a day. I only have 1 big ass cup in the a.m. and so does Rick.
And I sooo love that storage for the k-cups UNDER the machine. much better for space on my counters!!!

Maybe you should buy him the machine, make him a beer cake to go with his coffee and serve it to him in your underwear? I get the best ideas sometimes.
