Traveling

We are leaving tomorrow so I have a lot of things to do today - you know that last-minute frenzy before a trip. I know men don't know this but women do.

Last evening I got an email from United Airlines telling me that my trip could be impacted by weather. Would I like to go to another city? Or change my dates? No to both. Erie was not offered to me. So then I must do the closest airports. The airports near Erie are Cleveland and Buffalo.
If I am going to CLE and you think there is an issue due to weather, it sure as hell won't be better in Buffalo. Pittsburgh is an option if I wanted to drive 2 or more hours in snow from PIT to Erie in a rental car but we do not.

Because we can't go on other dates this is it. We are going to go for it.
Ah, nothing like being stuck in an airport with a bunch of people.
When I told Rick about the email I received asking if we'd like to go to another city he said, "well good, change it to Maui"   I wish funny boy.
We have to deal with family so it is what it is.
But boy sitting on a warm sandy beach in Maui with a mai-tai in hand sure sounds lovely about now. But I get a week in the tundra instead.

We aren't even bringing big bulky winter coats. I know it's going to be cold but I'll run from the car to the house. I will just bring my long fleece coat or something light that I won't have to carry because packing a big winter coat is not easy.
Neither of us wishes to schlep around the airport with these big bulky things either. We packed scarves and hats and gloves. That will have to do.
I'm telling you this is my last trip up there in winter.

Remember when I said they get a lot of snow around St. Patty's day.
Here it is. Damn they are predictable, aren't they? 😛

We have all the cameras on all around the property. We protected the plants that were planted because we are going to have one day that is cold while we are gone, down to the high 20's. We are set to go.
I will be back very late next week. Very late arrival back home. Our plane arrives at 11:30p and I'm sure the next day will be both of us dragging our tushies.

Have a fabulous warm weekend!

She torments this sweet man of hers but it makes me smile.

I would wish you a wonderful time, but given what you have shared, I will wish you a tolerable visit. Then any delight that comes your way will be an unexpected bonus! Do take care! ( Writing from Kansas where 6" of snow keeps this old woman out of the flower beds for a bit longer. But it's to be 65°F by Sunday, so there's that.) timberdawn

Whahahaha! You are such a piece of split!

Have a safe and uneventful trip, with little drama and zero COVID. Is that too much to ask?

Anon, thank you. I think you have it correct, a tolerable visit! Your Sunday sounds absolutely perfect!

Linda, he's so cute and she teases him so much but I admit I enjoy it. I hope it's not too much to ask. fingers crossed!

The snow that was supposed to be here last night was a bust. A dusting. Maybe it will fizzle out for you too.

Mike, oh good cuz that I believe is what is headed that direction.
And thx for the reserve info. Rick and I were unaware of how it worked back then. I also showed him the diagram you sent. He said, is he trying to make me look bad? While he did the same his looks far worse!🤣🤣

We started snowing here a little while ago and its coming down good. Hope you are spared every bit of it. Have a safe and peaceful trip. Got a laugh about Maui.
That Italian guy is adorable.

Patti, he is adorable isn't he? Some of the funniest ones I couldn't load for some reason. Yes, I too had to laugh when he said Maui.
I wish! But the best news is that baseball is back!!😁

Where is the dog going to be staying?

Jean my dog passed on Feb 10th 2022. So has crossed the rainbow bridge.

Visits to family are not trips to a warm beautiful beach (too bad they can't move to one!!). Most of my travel in the past was to do just that. I always tried to find a way to have a good time. It didn't hurt that most of the time I stayed with my sister....we usually found something fun to do. I sure hope the flight goes smoothly, and your visit is a good one!
