After Holiday Hangover

Thanksgiving was perfectly quiet and how we like it.

I had a lovely day with a former blogger who I made friends with several years ago. She moved back east because of love and living in North Carolina and hates it.
So when I got down here and 90minutes to 120minutes away we were both excited (prior she lived on the other coast)

She was kind enough to drive over in exactly 90 minutes and we spent the day chatting, laughing, shopping, drinking and eating. The typical. She wanted to go somewhere that I had never been so we went on an adventure. It was such a nice day!

That was Friday. Saturday I was feeling horrific. I had a headache, I was so tired I felt like I had been bit by one of the tsetse flies that give you sleeping sickness.
I was in my pj's all day. Well, actually I took a shower mid-day and then put on pj's again. How bad is that? I didn't feel like eating, I just had a headache and was feeling off and very tired. Saturday was a blur. Both Rick and I were just so damn tired.

Then Sunday I was feeling a bit better but something is off.
I had a haircut appointment at a new place downtown. It was at 2pm. I was feeling off but had no temp so I could still get a haircut. Oh, I got it cut. I was chopped and it is so short I almost cried. Thankfully I don't have a job to go to while this grows out. This is what happens when you move. You can find doctors easily - it's hairdressers. This was the2nd one. It's a good cut, just waaaaay too short.

Anyhoo, now it's Monday, and the fatigue and "off" feeling is still here. Covid?
It's crazy that is where our mind goes, isn't it? I went nowhere without a mask except at a restaurant to eat. Then it goes back on so I couldn't have covid, could I?
Nah.

Remember the young man who worked for us named Gary? He was a giant of a man at 6'6" and 300lbs and not fat!
His body-building arms were the size of my thighs.
It took Rick 2 years before he could speak with him after their parting of ways. Rick tends to hold anger and grudges. I get angry and blow up and then it's over for me. I feel strongly that holding a grudge is like you drinking poison and hoping the other person will hurt. No sense, let it go.
You don't have to forget but let the anger and a grudge go.
I would talk to Gary every once in a while but Rick never had.

Recently he touched base with Rick and Rick was open to talking to him.
Gary is around 43-45 years old. Gary has Leukemia.
That is why he wanted to talk to Rick. Now I got it. Amends I suppose.
They talked for a good long time and were laughing. Nothing about the job and how he left, but they laughed about the naked women and men who answered their doors and the crazies they encountered daily. Then he dropped this tidbit of having leukemia on Rick. Rick asked about his treatment and he said medication for the rest of his life however long that will be. He has a son in 2nd or 3rd grade. I hope it's a long life. This boy needs his daddy. He was smart and never married that baby's mother.  She was a bad human being. I don't say that lightly. I have only met 2 people like her in my life and it makes me shiver just thinking about her.

That was my exciting couple of days. Oh yes, there was that holiday in there which was quiet for us. Just like the way we like our holidays. No drama.

Sound like My wife's symptoms, could be mild covid. Masks do make people feel safe, but they are probably mostly worthless. If you are around a smoker, for instance, you can still smell his smoke...that will tell you that a covid aerosol will easily get by any mask.

I will wear them just to not upset other people, and they can not hurt, but probably offer very little protection.

Mrs. C felt tired, bit of a headache and touch of fever for about 5 days. She felt better day 6 and got tested but was still positive, two days after tested negative.

Very sad about the young man with leukemia and you are correct, a young boy especially needs a dad.

Get well soon.

Oh, and my mom was a Peg or Peggy, but she was a Mary, not a Margaret ... go figure.

Could be what we have been fighting here in the Midwest...doctor called it RSV, has a lot of Covid symptoms but is not Covid. It is a virus and lasted 2 weeks for some in the family 3 for others. Spreads with the aerosol droplets also so use same precautions as Covid. Really getting tired of all of this.

Hope you are better soon; I would have a decent day followed by 2 off days. It sucks.

Our Walgreens has test you can buy for $25 or so and take home and do yourself. That's what we used. Good for piece of mind if nothing else!

Hope you're feeling better. Like joeh says, the masks generally don't do much as far as keeping people from getting COVID, but I'm sure you've been playing it safe.

How nice that Rick's "ex" got in touch and they buried that hatchet. Leukemia, yuk.

I know what you mean about finding a new hairdresser/stylist. I think I'm pretty low maintenance, but I'm still searching after moving here nearly two years ago.

Get well soon, and post a picture.

These days, we don't feel like this might over.

I think you should get tested. I am ordering an at home test just to keep here--in case. Not a bad idea. Please let us know so I can quit worrying about you.
So glad Rick and Gary were able to get past the anger. Life is too short and Gary has been made aware of that. Hope the treatments provide him a long life.
Take care Peg and let us know.

That does sound like the Covid reaction my sister had. She said she slept for a week but I can't remember the rest of the symtoms.

One good thing about where I'm living now. I can walk to the office and get Covid tested whenever I like and they have masks and temperature "guns" and hand sanitizing stuff at all the doors. I fear we're going to have to set up Covid only hospitals before we're rid of it.

So glad you met and had fun with another blogger.

Jean, because of the anti-vaxxers I do not believe we will ever be rid of this. "they" have even said so. If the world won't abide what needs to be done to eradicate then this will go on and on.

I met my blogger buddy years ago and she just spent a long weekend at my old home with her family. We just clicked and it's been great ever since. How lucky that she lives in this state now so that worked out for us.

joeh, I had no fever so I am hoping that means no covid. But getting tested today. thank you for the info.

Unknown, yuk. HOpe you are feeling better now!

Julie, that's where I'm going today!

Abby, it was nice that Rick finally let it go. What Gary did and how Gary did it was awful. He apologized to me many many times. Rick never allowed an apology because he wouldn't even speak to him. So I was glad for both of them.

Susan, it will never be over sadly.

Patti, getting it today!

Barbara, sleeping for a week would make me so happy but not because of covid. LOL

Mike, you and your pictures!😜

She sounds a little like Rick's bio mom. She was not a terribly nice human. Wishing Gary the best.

Hope you feel better real soon too.
