Got Nothin'

It's Monday.
The news depresses me and I don't watch it yet it sneaks into my life.
I hate everything right now.
My new noisy neighbor.
My family who just doesn't seem to get here is a pandemic going on.
The people at the grocery store who are pushy and mean.
I deleted two comments accidentally when doing this from my phone.
I am sorry to Mike and to Margie. Fat fingers on my phone. I wish you could undelete it or it went into a folder like emails and you could retrieve it again.  I did read them but when I hit publish my fat fingers hit delete. I am sorry! I can't do this from my phone anymore. This was the 2nd time this has happened.

My neighbor has a dog who is a beautiful dog. I do not know the breed.
He leaves the dog a great deal. Why have a dog then?
It howls the whole time he is gone. Rick is going to have a come to Jesus meeting with him tonight after work.
Yesterday he had a group of people over - apparently, the pandemic is over for him.  He had a family of 5 visiting and he cut the one guys hair on the patio.
I saw this from my bedroom window and when I saw him put the clippers to the man's head directly (straight) into his head I knew he was going to have a big hole in the guy's hair. You don't go into the head. You angle it. Sure enough, he did make a hole. I heard the screams and went to the window like Nosey Nellie. He ended up having to shave the man's head. Barbers are open so what the hell was that about? They were in a group and they weren't social distancing or wearing masks. So why not just go to the barber?

Saturday Rick made breakfast on the deck. Bacon outside is da bomb.
It was a big breakfast and lasted us the whole day. I love meals on the grill. Then we went to find a new nursery. Our favorite place to get our summer plantings was a place called Cox Farms. The parents retired and the kids turned it into a place that has no plants. They just have an enormous pumpkin farm.
Home Depot and Lowes have plants but not a good variety or for that matter not normally good quality. We went to another nurse that was picked over and when you asked for some help they actually sneered.
I don't need that. So Rick and I headed to Fairfax to find Bettys Azalea Nursery. It has so much more than just azaleas thankfully. We got our load of plants and put them on our wagon and went to check out.

Everyone as is the norm, was wearing a mask, and stood in line 6ft or more apart. We were in line forever. The first guy was finally finished and he took off his mask. A man in front of us yelled at him. My first thought was oh my God please don't fight. The man put it back on and went to his car. No other words uttered. Whew.

The next woman was paying with an American Express. But they apparently did not take American Express. So instead of him voiding the transaction and taking care of others in the line, he waited for her to go to her car to find another form of payment. This place is huge. It takes 5 minutes to get to the car. So we waited and waited and the mouth breathing cashier just stood there. The man behind this woman said, "Could you just check me out while you wait for her to come back?"  This kid with his hunched over shoulders and his mouth always open just stared at the guy.
Hello?  Anyone in there?
The person behind us said, "I think there is another cashier on the other side of this building."
She and I went to look for it. We got checked out and as we walked to our car and passed the other mouth breathing cashier, everyone was still waiting in the same place.  I was wearing a T-shirt that says, BACON, the gateway meat.
I bought my former son in law bacon of the month plan for Xmas one year and they sent me the T-shirt. Anyway, this cashier when she gave me the receipt said she loves my shirt. When we were walking out people pointed to my shirt and gave me thumbs up. It was odd. Bacon is indeed the gateway meat. My vegetarian friends told me so.

We planted the rest of our plants when we got home and hope they love their new home.  We then had a lovely afternoon not walking the dog since she was at doggy daycare for some playtime.  The weather was perfection (77 degrees in June - unheard of!)
Just a lovely day.

Life is pretty boring right now. All in a good way to me.
Today starts my getting back into my clothes.
Talk about boring.  I had my last glass of Lemonade last night knowing I couldn't have that anymore. I will miss my lemonade. It's good alone and it's great with tequila. But it's not part of the diet unfortunately so if I plan to ever wear my shorts again I must do this boring task of no food or drink. When does it end?

I might recommend that you record the barking dog so that the owner can understand why it's a problem...I have had that conversation with a neighbor (I don't recommend stating "you need to do something about your dog" because it usually ends up with f* you). They ended up putting the dog in a kennel they built right next to my house :-(

Sister, I hear you about the news. I am watching it right now, but luckily I've muted it when they are discussing things I don't want to hear. I just can't deal with the stupid media that has to escalate by sensationalism instead of the facts.

Hope your plants are happy, and seriously? he just waited for her to go to her car? Isn't customer service great?

Y - my plants are happy, which makes me happy. I did cut all the dead blooms of my hydregea and right now it looks just green and I miss the blooms. There are new buds, just haven't bloomed yet.
No, we would never approach his dog as you stated. Never! He asked if the dog was loud and at that time we said no. But we will address each time he leaves, the poor dog howls for hours until he comes home. It may be because it is a new home and he doesn't know this. He has asked us a few times about can we hear this or that. And we hear nothing but the dog only when he leaves. We feel bad for the dog. We are going to offer to take the dog as well when he leaves for a long time. Our dogs like one another. I'll keep you posted. I fear he is going to feel terrible. We don't want to start off like that. So trust us we'll be kind and make it about the dog more than us. :-)

That was a whole lot of nothing. (I just gave a 180-degree meaning to that phrase.)

So that's what that twinge I felt was. Me being deleted. :(

Hi! Glad to see you are doing well, all world things considered.

I'm back after a 9 mo. blogging hiatus. Have a good week!

It ends when you die or give in lol Currently at the give in but I need to get back on the wagon too.

I saw huge parties posted on FB this weekend. Like a whole barn set up. Meanwhile the numbers keep going up here.

Can't believe you mentioned BACON so many times. I am drooling on my keyboard. I have a friend whose son swears he wants to die with bacon on his breath. Me too since I can so seldom have it.
I was wondering if you might not take in the howler as a play date for Izzy. Might work.

p.s. apparently I had my blog locked down from last year, so it looked like by invitation only. I've opened it up. dur. LOL

I'm sorry you felt that Mikey.

Silver - welcome back. You moved right?

Julie - I knew someone would say that. It sucks. A never ending battle. I agree with those parties. Argh.

Patti - Bacon is good for you. That is our plan to offer to take his dog so he's not alone. We thought that would help the issue.

THe COVid weight gain. I had in my mind that the fate of my newish relationship rested entirely on the first word out of his mouth NOT being, "Wow, you gained some weight." He passed the test but now we are both on diets.

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

Olga, yes we are too. Both have gained and we are mad at ourselves. Good call on the friend not saying that! He passed😷
Then I cut my hair around my ears...oops now it looks like a mullet. I'm oh so pretty right now!

Lines seem slower everywhere and since everyone is standing 6 feet apart, it makes the lines snake thru the whole store sometimes! Some people are still acting like there is no Pandemic, even tho' our State had a 300% increase in Cases in a Week! Of coarse, we have a Covidiot Governor who used to be an Ice-Cream Parlor CEO, so I guess Science and Public Health aren't his wheelhouse. *LOL*

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

B. I would agree about your governor. But gee the GOP convention will be in your backyard. I bet you're looking forward to that!! All your friends in one place.

I find that I'm watching the news quite a bit in snippets throughout the day, but I also get bits and pieces from notifications that pop up when I pay attention. All of that's in between watching movies and tv programs via Netflix and other places. I'm not kidding, I have a movie and tv library in the thousands because of various apps, which leads me to come to your house so I won't be surrounded by lemonade and other goodies. Come on and let's suffer together(lol) Hugs, RO

Ro, I make killer popcorn though if you wanna watch movies.
:-) My neighbor calls my popcorn crack so if you want to watch movies together.
