I had to post it here.

In other news -
My niece grew up in Erie PA as I did where it is cold or cold and snowy far more than it is warm. My niece sent me this below.
When I lived in Erie I used to go outside in blizzards wearing leggings and a hoodie and now it's 60 degrees and I need 4 jackets and boots to function.
The south makes you weak and that is why they lost the civil war.
Oh my God how I enjoyed her text. She made fun of me one time when I went north in winter and I was dying. She laughed at me. HA - not so funny now is it southern girl?
______
I spend a good majority of my day going in circles lately.
A woman begged me, I mean begged me for this date.
I did not have the date open. I gave her alternatives. She didn't like them. Then she says she will think about it. That usually means they will call the competition. Not much I can do.
Then she calls me back 2 days later asking if the date is available. WHAT?
So again I explain it is full.
She then asks if someone would move for her to have this spot.
All I can do is ask them I tell her.
I then call everyone on that day. I wait for them to call me back.
The first person answered the phone and said no.
That is fine I understand. I explain that someone would like that date and if they don't mind switching with him etc. I always tell them they do not have to say yes if they don't want to, but I am asking for the customer.
The other 2 don't answer so I leave messages.
I call this woman back to tell her I am waiting on them to return calls.
She is not happy but what can she do? Then I get a person who will switch with the begging woman. I move them, I offer the man willing to move something for free for the inconvenience. Then I call the original pain in the ass who begged for this date. I tell her it is available and at this time. She tells me she changed her mind - I'm not doing this at all.
My head exploded.
I called the man who I was switching and told him that the woman changed her mind.
I apologized for the inconvenience and he said, "Aren't people a pain in the ass?"
That made me laugh, but I couldn't answer honestly, I just said there are days aren't there? He asked if he was still going to get his freebie and I said yes.
I mean how could I say no after all this?
I spent way too many hours on this begging woman.
Lesson learned. No good deed goes unpunished.
Never again!

I always try to remember you when the sprinkle system people call and want to schedule me on such and such a day, giving me no choice of days or times that they'll be in my neighborhood. You owe me big time for the bloody tongue I get from biting it to save the poor service call person a bad day at the office. LOL
Jean, I'll send some bandaids. LOL I'm sure they appreciated your kindness and understanding and if they didn't then you should make a fuss. How's that?
Just this morning I said as I always do, "do you have a date in mind before I begin to tell you what is available?" He said thanks for asking and he gave me a date and it was open in the morning so he got it. He wanted afternoon but he said at least I'll be home that day and I'll take a.m.. Most are nice, but every once in a while like yesterday I want to strangle them.
Ann, yes you do get the cold, you just don't get the snow up there. When I went to school in Pittsburgh I loved that they thought 14 inches of snow was a lot at one time. :-)
I could see it coming. I HAVE to have this date. Nevermind.
Mike, I should have seen it coming. I'm an idiot trying to be nice and provide great customer service. That'll teach me.
You are a saint. Let's hope that lady breaks out in something highly visible, ugly and itchy. Sheesh.
Patti, I honestly try to give the kind of service I would like. I also know that I am the first contact with our company. And while no one knows I am the owner, I love to eat and stay warm in my house. I can't do that if I don't have a business so I have to swallow a lot of shit. So no sainthood here. I just know that this job has made me have a very very strong dislike for humans. And you made me laugh out loud and wake up Izzy with your "highly visible, ugly and itchy something" Oh if only I had the powers.....
Drat. I wish we lived near each other. We could schlep to each other's house in our most comfortable (and usually ugly) outfit, sit on the sofa with a nice blanket, drink wine and swap customer/patient stories. Because whenever you post one like this it always resonates with me....haha.
I have so been there. A patient wants to come in on a certain date. I do the same thing you've done. A patient on the day in question agrees to come at a different time. Then, on the day he/she wanted so badly, they call and cancel "Oh, I have out of town visitors I didn't expect" or "My car won't start".... It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Drives me nuts.
It's, oh would that be fun. Now I bitch at Rick and I know he just doesnt get it. If he did this job he would live under a bridge because he does not possess the ability to bite his tongue. he would piss everyone off and he would have no business.
I sometimes get similar requests - people who can "only" meet in a tiny time frame. I make some efforts to rearrange schedules, but in the end, they should've called me sooner.
Ha, that last meme, so true. The "hooker phase", as my Father-in-law's wife refers to it, seems to start in middle school.
Abby, "the hooker phase" needs to go away. How sad that starts in middle school. No wonder girls have all this pressure. Kids should be kids for as long as they can damn it. Last nights candy handing out was an eye opener. So thankful I don't have little ones in this environment.
I love the message from your niece. It was 60 here yesterday and 90 the day before. Where do I sign up for the 70 or 80 degrees?
Barbara, if you d
find a place that is 70s/80s all the time, let's go!!
I only got one trick or treater so I'll take your word for it. I remember why I usually go hang out with the neighbors.
I have a sick thing at work where I try to make the grouchiest people like me. It usually works haha. I don't know why but we bond.
