Things Annoying Me Today

  • Mark Walhberg. He wants a pardon for his past crimes. let's see, if he weren't a celebrity would he get this? No!  In 1988, a 16-year-old Wahlberg attacked Thanh Lam, breaking a stick over his head and calling him a "Vietnam fucking shit." Running away from the scene of that crime, he then punched another Vietnamese man Hoa Trinh in the face so severely he blinded him in one eye.  According to the police report, he then made a number of "unsolicited racial statements about 'gooks' and 'slant-eyed gooks.'" Wahlberg was tried as an adult and sentenced to two years in prison. He was released after 45 days. (you know because he's white)  So the answer is no you smug arrogant bastard who did bad things.
  • To those who keep writing shit about gluten free being a stupid fad. Stop it. You are ruining it for those of us suffering from Celiac Disease. This is not a choice.
  • Republicans.
  • To the local idiots who closed school today because there is a chance of a TRACE of snow. A trace sure is dangerous.
  • To the customer who tried to get a refund and when Home Advisor sided with us she went to the BBB. The BBB man laughed when we discussed. Hopefully they will shoot her down too.
  • Work.
  • That spring training doesn't have me excited this year
  • My husbands new noises. I am now referring to them as old man noises. What the hell is up with that? He has a new noise for everything. Sitting, moving, and this morning drinking his coffee. OH MY GOD it is quite annoying. He insists he isn't making them. (and then laughs)  I will need to record him.
  • That it is still winter.

I'm with you on 8 of the 9 things that have your knickers in a wad today.

But as far as those 'old man noises' go - they are unfortunately necessary. It is absolutely necessary to emit a grunt or groan when getting out of a chair. Sitting down in that same chair a little later? Different sound, but totally required.

Careful what you record and play back to him. Do you REALLY want to know what sounds you make when you're sleeping? (Not that I know, or course, just using my own spousal unit as an internal reference) :)

Brian, that is so funny that you said there were necessary. Rick told me the same. I asked why? He said it just is now that he is 59.
And NO I don't wish to know but from my understanding and his need to wake me by touching my arm to see if I'm breathing, I'm quiet. (the only time :-)

LOL

Scott makes noises constantly and talks to himself with a running conversation. It's SO annoying. Oddly when he was really sick I kind of missed his white noise.

Julie - that is a hoot -his "white noises" Rick refers to my voice as white noise. Nice.
Apparently older men make these noises. I mentioned it to my mother this sudden phenom going on at my house and she said, "Have you listened to your father lately?"

I wouldn't dare record some of the noises my hubby makes!

Well geeze, I must be starting early then. I only just tipped the meter to 56.

I can add that since I got my bionic ears, I find that my spousal unit's white noise is too damn loud. I have to give her the 'shush' hand signal to get her down to a dull roar. Hmmm - could just pop out one of my bionic ear units too, eh? Or is that too subtle?

I actually posted for the first time in 5 months too. Gonna see about a couple lunchtime posts a week. Might become fun again.

Brian - wow your bionic ears are really working. Perhaps I don't want to get any to keep the noise down with the old man.
I'll head over to visit you. It's been awhile.
