Post Script

Yes, they called me again.
The fighting couple called yesterday late afternoon because as Margie told me on the phone, "The dumb ass touched it while it was wet"

As she is sharing this information with me she is calling him every name in the book.
He then grabs the phone and apologizes to me.
He asks if Rick can come by and fix this.
She is yelling shit in the background and he is yelling into the phone at me so that he can speak over her loud voice.
My goodness these 2 are a Jerry Springer show.

How do you get to 75 yrs old and be this miserable in a relationship?
To me that would be so damn exhausting!
And talk about disrepect.
Rick would not live to a ripe old age if he spoke to me like this and vice versa.
But for some reason it does makes me laugh when not directed at me.

I don't get it either, but some people seem to thrive in relationships when all they do is fight. I could NEVER but some people crave that sorta thing.

You need to record the next call.

Carolyn - sad to live like that but funny for the rest of us.

Mike - is that legal? But then again airing their issues in a blog may not be either...tee hee

I don't get it either but as long as they don't start slinging f-bombs your way I'd do the work and run!!!

Maybe it's funny only b/c they're older and we wouldn't expect it. I've seen this happen to younger couples who wind up not remaining together, but a couple in their 70s? It's just habit at that point, I think. Could it be genuine animosity? I'd hate to think that. I mean, I will tell my husband to kiss my ass on occasion but it's (almost always) in jest, and certainly not yelled (where others might overhear).

You should start a Twitter stream titled "Shit my neighbors say" and then try to sell the idea to CBS for a sitcom.

Jay - great idea! Only let's make it "Shit my customers say" That could take us into season 12!

I've known people that didn't feel alive unless there was drama and chaos going on!

I guess some people thrive on anger. Don't know what to do when things are fine.......

In my in-laws case he used to be really mean to her and she was afraid of him. Now he's old and I think she thinks he won't hurt her so she's always bitching at him. Drives me nuts.

Julie - I wonder what I'll be like when I'm older. Will I turn mean? Do you feel uncomfortable when visiting and that is going on? I would assume so.

When a friend of mine mother passed. She thought her dad would be somewhat relieved because all they did was fight. But her brother told her that if they ever stopped, then that would have been a problem. It would have meant that they no longer cared.

Tina....sad but it could their issue as well. Old habits die hard.
