Library.

I stopped at the library to pick up reserved books. I called Rick to be sure all was OK. I had been gone for a bit already. I told him where I was and that I'd like to stay a bit. Did he need anything? I asked him not to cook. He laughed and promised he wouldn't.

Sometimes 30 minutes alone gives this caregiver the ability to decompress for a minute. Or sit in my car and cry so I can then move forward with a smile and be a good care giver.

There are big comfy chairs in the back to sit and read.
I grabbed a chair, exhaled. After a few minutes this man who sat across from me kept staring. Just as I was thinking that I should leave he leans in and said," i feel like I know you from somewhere."

Nope, don't think so, I'm not from here. He said he wasn't either. He asked where I worked. Ha ha, the white hair wasn't a give away? "Im retired."

May I ask you where you worked?
Galileo
Never heard of it.
I smiled and went back to my book hoping he was done.

May I asked what you did there?
I was a senior sales executive/contract negotiator.
I was hoping like hell that was it.
Nope.
He said ah. Car salesman?, eh?

I wanted to scream or punch him, but I just nodded my head and looked back at my book. I did not ask him about himself. I just wanted to be alone and who'd have thought I'd have this maga creep to deal with at the library. Perhaps if he opened a book instead of his mouth he'd learn something. I didn't do or say any of that Im proud to say.

Sir, I'm just here to relax and read if that's ok.
Hopefully that would shut him up. Then he started on another woman. That did it. I left. Does this man think it's a pick up bar? She looked at him with such disgust.

But being the wench I am, I went to the front desk. These ladies know me so I felt safe doing this. I told them about this dude bothering us all quietly reading and enjoying the peace. In unison 2 ladies said, "Oh God, not again.  They said they'd take care of it and i left.

In my car I sat there and thought maybe I was being petty. I had then decided I don't care. I'm tired of tolerating everything.

I drove home. The house was still standing. Leaving Rick alone can be scary. He leaves the stove on, water running and lights on in rooms he's not in. The stove and water are the ones that concern me. And the falling of course. All were in one piece.

I stopped and got him a peanut butter cup. He laughed like crazy. You see he always would buy me  chocolate when he went on a work trip,
So I knew this would make him laugh. And it did as I hoped.

In other news....a cancelation opening was available so I see the endocrinologist late today. Fingers crossed i get answers!🤞

Happy Hump Day!

Reporting the creeper? Well done. Librarians don't eff around; he will be dealt with. Go librarians! And libraries! Also, endocrinologists.

They acted like they knew him. I love my little library. It's like comfort, if only they served coffee.☺️

Good luck at your appointment! That guy sounds like every person who tries to talk to me on Words with Friends lol. Every man has the same story. Widowed with 2 kids and in the military. Suree you are.

Good for you for standing up for yourself and every other woman that goes to that library.

I didn't realize Rick's condition was ... what it is, as frightening as it is ... and I hope you can arrange for some respite to recharge yourself. Could someone come in for awhile each day so you could get out alone? Or even once a week; knowing you have that time to look forward to can be a relief in itself. When my mother was dying, eventually I had to insist I'd be there at a certain time on certain days so that Dad could make plans to get out and do things. It did help him cope. -Kate

Kate I tried that. He was livid, I don't need a babysitter. and his doctors words could be heard in my head, "he doesn't know what he doesn't know" I have to do something I have a lot of stress that I don't even go into. I am a wreck. I go 100mph and I don't even feel good most days. He's not the same in so many ways and I miss my husband desperately. But I must remember when I have my pity party it's far worse for him. I'm working on figuring this out. I need my library time - no creeps and no worries 😂

Geez, that guy seems creepy. Good that you mentioned him to the staff. You need your "me time".

Oy, I didnt think of how he'd react to that. What about hiring someone to come in for a couple hours even once a month to clean the bathrooms and wash the floors while you're out of the house because your delicate ears cant stand the noise of the vacuum and also if you're present you won't be able to keep yourself from cleaning alongside the cleaner? (What I do; it motivates me. But YOU need to go to the library and you don't want to leave a stranger alone in your home; he needs to be there.)
That's me, full of (unworkable?) ideas, at your service.
You're no dummy, Margaret. You'll find a way to make time for yourself.

Yes I do. Nothing worse than a creeper.

I'm working on all of the above. Yes, I must leave if a cleaner is here because I'd want to help. You know mw so well.😁
