Unpacking....forever

The computer is somewhere in this sea of boxes somewhere in a room or, garage. All rooms full as is that big garage. Anyone need furniture? I'm having a big sale!

Where's Waldo?...err  I mean Rick . Last night we went through so many boxes and did not find our utensils.  We were hungry and exhausted. Rick cut up veggies with a utility knife. I had washed some take out plastic forks and Rick laughed at me. But, he was not laughing when we needed to eat.

The list is overwhelming. Today we will attack the kitchen, even if it kills us. And it may. But by bedtime we hope to complete the kitchen.

Must get back to it all. Those damn boxes are not unpacking themselves. If you wish to stop by to help I'd sure appreciate it.😁

Ooh, one thing. We have no room for our patio furniture. Only the table, chairs and grill. So we put the sofa on the front porch for now. Rick and Izzy sit there in the morning. "The stoop" to her. This morning I sat for 10 minutes and neighbors walking by waving. One man said, "welcome to the neighborhood. We'll talk!" And he continued on his walk. Very friendly folks down here where it's slow, green and today fall like. High only 77. Yeah!! And I'm out of a hotel and it's all good...or will be!

Sofa on the front porch? Now all you need out there is a refrigerator and you'll have completed your transition from urban to rural.

Those boxes look daunting. I wonder if there is a service that will pack and unpack for you while you just point.
Know it will be a big sigh of relief when you get a little normal and can enjoy your new home and neighbors. Hang in.

Mike alright funny boy! It's an outdoor patio sofa. My house is not on wheels, just yet anyway.

Patti, wouldn't that be nice? we are so running on lack of sleep and we took a break today and went outside. We just had to. It will be here later right?

Julie, the garage is to be Rick's workshop. I can't leave it in the garage. HEnce the issue. :-)

Oh how I hate moving.

I hate that Post-Move-In-Overwhelmed-With-Shit-to-Do feeling. Then you just have to start "chopping wood." Do a box. Then another. Repeat. But I'm sure I don't have to tell you, for as often as you've moved.

It's and bluzdude, you are both correct, no matter how many time one has moved it still sucks! This by far is my worst. But my last until nursing home.

When we moved into our new home, the place was clear but the garage was so filled of boxes it was hard to walk around. We are still moving things properly and put pictures on the wall. You both will eventually love doing this ( I hope you will ). The question will be, " Where does this one go and that one go? " Take your time Peg and enjoy it. If not just smile. After 10 months, we are just feeling like home. Well come to your retirement.

I know unpacking is definitely no fun - ever! I definitely feel your pain. I've done it in my lifetime 13 times! But I'm glad you're officially "home" now, and not too far from me. Sounds like that sofa is calling out to me right now(lol) Hugs and more hugs, RO

Seeing all your boxes in the kitchen both calmed me and scared me. Calmed me because by next week that will be the way my new kitchen will look and now I don't feel like I've over packed, But scared because of all the work those boxes represent.

Ro - and my satellite guy taught me the proper way to say Fuquay Varina. He was a hoot!

Jean, the issue is I unpack a box and have no where to put the insides of said box. We are not having an easy time. We now have a box for things to sell and I'm sure there will be more.
