OMG. This woman drove me bat shit crazy.
You know what I meant?
She said this after everything and sometimes twice in one sentence.
I don't get to spend much time with them you know what I meant?
I wanted to rip this out but the cost, you know what I meant?
I own my own business, you know what I meant and then he said it didn't matter regarding the taxes, you know what I meant?
OMG. Every sentence!!
I wanted to scream YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?!
You are saying it NOW, it is not past tense woman!
My Lord, this drove me crazy and she kept talking.
I stopped counting at 15 times.
Honestly, the silliest things drive me crazy, you know what I mean?

I had to read this twice because I didn't even register the "t" until you mentioned past tense. Somethings are meant to drive you crazy. (Sorry)
Olga, well she succeeded!
"You know what I mean?" Would bother me when used as a thought pause, "You know what I meant" would drive me bat sh*t crazy.
People today, especially young ones can not stop saying "you know" after every thought...ugh.
Joeh, she told me she was 76. So not a dumb young person. She also told me she was still working, you know what I meant? :-)
Oh yes, I do!! You are so brave for not just walking away from the phone!
People can fall into the stupidest speech patterns. Judge Judy pounces on people who sure 'filler' words all the time. This woman is using a filler sentence and thank goodness you don't have to live with her. Can you imagine how quickly you'd want to kill her? Then you'd go to jail and well, "you know what I mean" when I say speech patterns would be the least of your problems there. LOL
Like, I know exactly what you mean. I, like, never can figure out what people are, like, saying when they keep, like, dropping in stupid shit to fill their sentences. Like, You Know!
Jean, I don't need to live with her to want to hurt her. She did enough of that yesterday. And she said she didn't know she had to put ".com" at the end of the email. I kept telling her I wasn't receiving her emails. She told me it must be my email. Argh.
Linda, that sounded very Californian to me. :-) I also hate how millennials UP speak. Everything is a question.
I want to drive? I put my purse down?
Now I find older people up talking.
annoying, like, ya know?
Jade, I'm not brave. I need business to eat and support myself so I can't ignore them. Double edge sword.
I just got a text from Rick, he said, WAIT UNTIL I GET HOME TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU - THESE PEOPLE ARE LOONEY!
It's a good thing I have a blog who else could I tell this stuff to?
Geez, just plain, "y'know?" bothers me, along with needless "like", "I mean", "uhm", "and stuff"... But to have to listen to the stuff interjected WRONGLY?! Give me strength.
Abby, thank you for understanding my pain. :-)
You should have made it a contest and replied every time with, 'Yes I know what you meant'.
Mike, why aren't you here in the office to help me.
Aww how horrid. Just the phrase "you know" drives me nuts. I usually reply each time, "No I don't know." Throw in the wrong tense and I might lose it. Since batty lady is paying the bills, just roll eyes mentally and breathe.
Oh my God! Was this woman crazy? Ya know what I mean? LOL There are a lot of crazy people in this world Peg. Rest an have a glass of wine. See ya.

This post was so funny and so were all our comments. I don't know if I have a filler phrase. I'm going to pay attention so I don't sound like an idiot. You know what I mean?
