I got up early to watch the gold medal hockey game.

If it were Russia, or anyone else I'd be beyond thrilled to have won.
Yet, we won the gold and I feel bad. The men while receiving their silver medals never smiled.
Rick turned to me and said, "I think I'm a bad American. I feel terrible for Canada. But, if now someone took out the orange pedo,all would be right in the world"
A bit sick but I understood.
I'm sorry Canada. It was a great match. Now I need some breakfast.

It was a heartbreaker to lose alright, but I must say it was probably one of the best hockey games I've ever seen. True NHL hockey, fast and rough. Connor Hellebuyck deserved to take that solo victory lap wearing the American flag. He won the game for the USA. He was a brick wall in goal! My only consolation is that he plays for a Canadian team, my beloved Winnipeg Jets, hahahahaha!
I don't watch or care about hockey, but let's say the U.S. team won because there are a lot of people suffering in that country and they really needed a win. xo Kate
I didn't watch, but my son told me that Canada outplayed the US, but the US has an amazing goalie. Tough loss for Canada.
I wasn't able to see the game in real time, but I'm sure the highlights will show up down the line.

I DVR'd the game because I knew there was no way I was going to be up and ready to watch hockey at 8AM. (Especially because our weekend routine is: Breakfast, read the paper, do all the puzzles.)
That said, that was one of the most entertaining games I've seen in ages. I was happy to see the USA win, but I also would have been happy to see Canada win. (and if Crosby was playing, I would have tilted more to the Canadians.)
It was a great game and anyone of the teams could have won. I wanted of course Canada to win but they got the silver. What really got my craw was this thing in my computer today was tRump going into the AI making him the hockey player that won the game and beat up a Canadian player. I was sick but of course tRump is sick in the head.

I still recall the hockey game America won back in the 70s 0r 80s. We were in church and a man close to the back stood up and yelled, YEAH we won... a movie was made about it. Kurt Russell as the coach?
I was lying in bed staring at the clock and listening to Rick's rythmic breathing. So I figured, go make coffee and watch hockey. It was a really good game - period.
Ignore that orange MF'r. The rest of America isn't like him.
Of course I remember that game. I was a kid of 24. It was a big deal beating Russia for certain!
