Boring Week

Good ole Rick asked me last evening why his favorite storyteller hasn't been on her blog.

I told him nothing was going on in my life.

What?  C'mon did you ever tell them about Pit Hole City. That cracks me up.
Yep

Your family alone is a funny story - pick one.
Nah

How about the time I told the folks on the island we were just married when we weren't, and everyone bought us drinks.  Oh, you were in rare form that day, Margaret.
Why? Because I made you buy them all drinks for lying to them?
No, but when they got on the ferry with us you about flipped out.
I didn't want to continue this charade. But you were a hoot.
Nope.

Okay then, I'm sure I've done something stupid recently.
Oh yeah.
Well then.
But it's not funny, you were pissing me off.
Oh

Did you ever tell them how I make up stories and you always believe me and then you repeat them and look like a damn fool?
Yes, I have, and it frustrates me that you think that is so damn funny.
Oh c'mon you do too.
Okay, but the funnies don't always have to be at my expense.
Oh, but they do Margaret. You're a funny woman and yet so gullible,
Hmm....

So here it is Friday, and nothing new and exciting happened to me.

I strapped on my back brace and power-washed the walkway to my front door/porch and the steps.  It took it all out of me.  How damn pathetic. My spine will be the death of me.  I was hurting when I finished and when I got to the end, I collapsed on the grass for a minute.  I got up and put things away.

I had planned on power washing my driveway, but I couldn't do it.
Not all in the same day, I realized.

Instead, I came in and took two Tylenol and began scratching all the fire ants that bit me while I collapsed in the grass.

I HATE fire ants. I totally forgot about the fire ants. As I mentioned, I had never seen fire ants until moving here.
I never lived anywhere where this was an issue.
No sitting on the grass here. They are so gross. The bites that is.

So no story here - just a bite-infested boring week.
Hope yours was more fun.

Haha. The fire ants are fierce bitters. You love that power washer. I can understand it. Even though it whips you physically, you have visual proof that you've accomplished something. Organizing the sock drawer is a lot easier on your back. LOL

Yes, but my sock drawer is organized. :-( i do love to powerwash. If I physically could id do the neighborhood for free. It relaxes me mentally. Weird I know.

We have the little red ants that all gang up on you and hurt like a mofo when they bite.

Your boring week sounds like a lovely vacation to me (except for the ants).

You know Peg, I have an idea. Send the fire ants to the white house and have them go into Trump's pants. Now that would be great. He's destroying the entire world.

My eldest son walked onto ~ and then stood there screaming ~ a fire ant mound. This was when I lived in Texas, where fire ants are a real hazard. They are why I never mowed the lawn without a grass catcher, although you didn't really want to hang out over a next if you found it while mowing. They are awful. My poor baby had bites all over his legs, and he still has scars.
Texas A&M Univ. has been working to find answers to how to get rid of them. Some include pesticides, some are pouring boiling water onto the mound ~ I wouldn't do that with anything other than a pitcher. It doesn't always work if the next is really big.
Hah, the reason I don't blog as much any more is because ~ like you ~ there really isn't anything much going on. I'm just too busy with festival baking. I am considering taking a day off from it during this time of year next season, since I'm desperate to find time for canning, which takes most of the day.

You've reminded me to be grateful for no fire ants here.
Thanks for checking in!

With global warming, things like fire ants are moving further north. I can hardly wait.

I'm jealous. I believe I could have gone a lifetime not knowing about these little @!#%$

I'm glad you're up to a little bit of working around the house/yard. I am not physically up to a lot, but can do a bit. *Can*... not that I actually, you know, DO anything....

Fire ants aren't here. Yet. Saw them in Louisiana. There is more than one horror story about them which I will not put here. When my grandfather was a baby, they were in Arizona. My great grandmother had to put the legs of his crib in pans of water to keep the scorpions out of his crib, though. Which makes me shudder. Ick.

Hey, i feel you. Frustrating and angering to have your own body sabotage you. mourn it, try to stop fighting it , then learn to reduce stuff down to what you can tolerate. my chores are done in 15 min increments daily, and then at least i can tell myself i accomplished something. Takes awhile to get to accepting this though…

That last line is one of my issues.😀 thx for stopping by
