I have a bladder/UTI infection. I had one when at my fathers funeral.
My sister gave me her script and I took it and was doing far better.
At one point they began a prayer & they were waiting on me who was AGAIN in the bathroom.
So apparently this bugger likes me and came back.
Is there anything worse than having burning pee every 5 minutes?
Oh, wait there is, having to walk a dog when you have to pee every few minutes.
Izzy and I were walking as we do and man I had to go. No woods around to duck into. Just houses. We were about 7 blocks from our home.
I normally don't have her on a leash. She will never ever leave my side. But I always carry it with me. Yesterday her limping was worse so I let her just walk at her pace and chill and smell every blade of grass as she likes to do.
All of a sudden the limp got worse. She laid down on the sidewalk and looked up at me. Oh, I knew she didn't want to walk anymore. But I can't carry 73lbs 7blocks. Not even 1 block. AND I had to pee. I am torn. I am looking at her sad puppy eyes and yet I wanted to scream, hurry we have to hurry, mommy has to pee.
But I squatted down and rubbed her for a bit and she got up and walked a bit more. Then stops to sit. Oh dear lord, I really thought I was going to pee myself. I decided to put her on the leash. This way she'll walk a bit faster. For some reason, she always walks faster on a leash. I know she is hurting but I can't pee my pants in public. Not gonna happen.
I got the leash on her and she got up and walked then we stopped one more time and I stood on the sidewalk while she rested doing the pee-pee dance for all to see. Hopefully, they thought I was a chubby runner who's dog stopped and I was just keeping the pace in place.
Hey, I have to think of anything other than them pointing at the old lady doing the pee pee dance on the main thoroughfare.
I had to RUN. I was now a block away, I could see my house for heaven's sake. I am saying things to this dog like she understands my need to hurry. She did not.
Now I was thinking about those damn "sexy" diapers and how one of those right now would come in helpful. I made it home...just barely.
Later in the day, another damn walk. But this time we had a full wooded area. Izzy and I went into the woods and I had to do it. I wish I could have peed and taken a picture of Izzy staring at me.
She was so confused and it was just the damn funniest thing.
We went waaaay off the trails because I was not going to be seen doing this. I haven't peed outside since camp as a kid. But I had to go.
Izzy stopped and had the funniest look on her face. She just stared at me with a tilted head. It made me laugh out loud. Then I got her to walk home. Whew.
I can not walk a dog with a bladder infection unless I wear depends.
I won't wear depends so as soon as Rick gets home I made him walk her the rest of the night. Thankfully it rained Thursday afternoon and she won't go out in the rain. Thank God!
Here are some other things I saw this week to share.
I saw this woman at this computer screen and thought, gee I could see that one without my reading glasses.....maybe.
Did your Dad teach you to change a tire? Mine did when I bought my first car. (18) I've never done it except when my father made me when he was teaching me. So I guess I know how, but do I remember this? No.
💕
Oh, how I love this dog's face!
This woman told Rick this week that his repair skills were off the chart good. I showed him this and said he should charge more and say this. Of course, we both know you can't say this but he did indeed like that idea.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Bladder infections are such a pain in the butt! Been there, done that. Now all you have to worry about is, did you pick up poison ivy peeing in the woods? Been there, done that.
My dad wouldn't let me drive until I could prove I knew how to change a tire and check the oil.
I thought I had a big computer screen, now I'm jealous.
I had a moment like that on the Baltimore Metro, coming home from an Orioles game only it wasn't the need to pee. All I knew is that I had my favorite jeans on and if I lost containment, I'd have no choice but to burn them.
There is a plumbing company in Florida that has on the side of the trucks: Good work is not cheap and cheap work is not good. True within reason.
When I saw your blog title, I had to check it out :-)
I hope your infection is resolved soon ~ while taking my hormone blockers (after breast cancer treatment) I had them every 3 weeks....I was not a happy camper.
But your story reminded me of a drive Romeo and I were on, and I had to pee but we hadn't passed any gas stations or convenience stores (punny, haha). Finally I was squirming in my seat and desperate. He had to pull over and I didn't care at that point, but I tried to hunker down in the sand dune and vegetation to be out of sight.
Beyond that visual, I keep wondering what Izzy's thoughts might have been...."Is she trying to be a dog?". haha
That therapy dog's face cracked me up. I bet Izzy's face was similar when she saw you taking a pee in the woods. :D
The worst! I get about two a year and am so thankful for AZO to ease the pain until I can get to urgent care and have a male doctor remind me to wipe from the front to back and to clean up after sex. As if, in his brilliance and advanced education, he is telling me something I haven't known for 4 or 5 decades.
STFU!!!!
I hope you're feeling a lot better soon. I second the AZO recommendation.
You know I recently had a splash down after the muscle relaxing shots so I was with you on this one. Smart move to take it to the woods.
I can change a tire but only did it one time. A man came up behind me while I was struggling and he laughed and said, he had never seen a woman change a tire so he actually just stood there and watched. Grr.
Jean, thankfully no poison Ivy. Rick had it once on his penis after chopping wood, carrying the wood in his hands and arms. All over his hands silly boy and then peed in the woods. Didn't know he had poison oak until his penis swelled up. If it hadn't bothered him and was so painful he said he wouldn't have minded the swelling - only a man!
Bluzdude - hopefully you didn't have to burn those jeans! You win, that is far worse!!
Olga, agreed.
It's - I had a friend do that and thought she was out of sight until cars driving by began to honk. She put her one hand in the air and waved. She said at that point she just didn't give a damn. :-)
LL - that dogs face is my favorite and Izzy's was similar.
Linda, YES. They tell me this all the time. I wanted to bitch slap this woman or be really a smart ass and say, Oh really? Not back to front? Really sex is an issue with this? I didn't live to 63 to not know this. Just give me the drugs and let me go home. AZO does nothing for me. I wish it did.
I also wish this RX was over the counter so I don't have to get a lesson on wiping. For heaven's sake!!
Ami, AZO doesn't do diddly for me. I tried. I am feeling less urgent but not quite gone.
Ugh, never had a bladder infection, but have had a few pesky UTIs, so can imagine the pain and urgency! Wish I could've seen the look on Izzy's face. Well, you know I've climbed a few mountains. There are no porta potties in the mountains, and once you get above a certain elevation, no woods. It takes planning... Hope your nether regions are feeling better!
I can change a tire. Had to do it once. Don't wish to do it again.
Abby, basically this is a UTI. horrible. better today. Just got back from a 30 minute walk with the dog. She didn't want to walk today so I am taking her lead. She is aging before my eyes. yeah, i so wish I could have taken it because it was priceless. Same here with the tire.
Patti, you are so much nicer than me I would have had some words for that peckerhead just watching you hoping you'd fail I'm certain. I would have said, no help, no stare, you'll have to leave and I would have stood up until he did so. Oh that would have made me angry. yea, that is the shit where I lose it. (and mean customers)
Those of us who are a little older have either had or will have similar issues so not to worry about TMI. I hope you get past it soon.
Hell Notch always follows me to the bathroom and watches - Told him one day I was going to follow him around and stand and watch him when he's outside!! No he didn't listen to me!
April, he wouldn't have even minded. :-)
I've had kidney stones so I can commiserate a little. Lots of pain, and the need to pee every five minutes, and then all you can do is squirt and dribble...zero relief.
A man does have it better when all that is around is the woods.
Have you tried cranberry juice? And lots and lots of water to wash it all out?
The dog's face made me laugh - thank you, I needed that!
Hang in there...

Washable, reusable.

Jade, Did that cranberry first. it's getting better!
Love the Therapy Dog. Mine would look like that too. Especially if it had to take a cold shower with me. Hahaha.
Margaret (Peggy or Peg too), Ouch! Hope it's improving fast. Guess we all have funny stories after the event. My two most uncomfortable experiences were on a trip to Greece. First, must have been something I ate but I had a need and we were out in the hills so I literally jumped out of the car & ran to the rear (no pun intended) tree line of a tiny cemetery. All the while relieving myself apologizing to the inhabitants. The second was that I was at the age of peri-menopause & had an unexpected event so had to buy some Tampax in a tiny drugstore in an even tinier village. Completely mortified to find a handful of Greek men playing cards & obviously enjoying my discomfort in trying to describe that I needed "super Tampax" to the male owner. I only knew a few words like thank you, good morning, yata yata…. For those of you who might think the word "super" refers to the size of a woman's vagina - it doesn't. It refers to the absorption. Nothing has ever beat those two experiences. Hope all you and your readers have a good Memorial weekend.
Thank goodness you made it home. Once when I was in St. Maarten, I really needed to pee and I couldn't find a washroom. Finally I asked a policeman where a washroom was. He told it where, I find one but this old woman was sitting in front of the door. I said I need to use the washroom. She said OK but you have to pay me $1.00. Crazy, haing pay just to pee. See ya my friend.

Hey, they work for someone I know very well. And they lay flat. They are better than the bulky ones. Just don't use them as a first choice.
Was that a proposition?
I forgot 😄.
You want a laugh? Here's the story.

YIKES! While in the Air Force in Basic Training, I had 2 of those things, so I can totally relate to your discomfort, and hope you feel better soon. The first time I had one, I didn't know what was wrong and ignored it, until the pain became so bad, and I was urinating blood. Good way to get out of the heat of Basic training in Texas for a day.(lol) You always find the coolest memes that make me laugh, and I can definitely relate to. Happy Wednesday and Hugs...RO
Ro, feeling much better!! My memes are found from other sickies like me. :-)
I had a fever for 3 days awhile back and felt a bit crampy when I finally dragged myself to urgent care. I had them check for a UTI and they said it was really bad. Had the same symptoms a month later and the Dr said it was fine (no fever though). I've been trying to drink a bit less caffeine and I think that is helping a bit.
