Pre-Surgery

Tomorrow is the big day. Torn rotator cuff repaired. Arm in a sling for 24/7 for 4 weeks. I will not be able to type or much else for that matter.
I have had surgeries before but for some reason this one is scaring me. Oh well.....soldier on.

We closed up the lake house this weekend. It is always a bit sad to do. All the colorful adirondack chairs piled and stored away along with the umbrella's and floating lounge chairs. All the summer fun with those items, all piled away for the winter.
On a happy note - the leaves were gorgeous reds, oranges and yellows. It smells so delicious. I love the smell of fall.

We are surrounded by trees on this 1 acre of land on the water and while it is beautiful it also means a ton of work. We spent 2 days blowing those leaves off the wrap around deck and driveway and yard. It's never ending. I am sure if we could go down this thanksgiving we'd find another pile on the deck that was calf deep. This will be our first thanksgiving not at the lake in years. It will be weird. But I know I will be unable to make that drive next week.

I've been running around busy as hell before the surgery tomorrow. Preparing food so hubby has something to come home and just nuke for dinner. Laundry, bills paid, food in fridge and cupboards, all errands run, make sure all his work clothes are there for a few weeks from cleaners and laundry. All of this before I can leave for surgery. Got me to thinking about when I traveled all the time for work. Same thing. When my husband traveled for work he packed and left. I went through a week of prep for being gone. Same thing here. I got to thinking what would my husband be doing if his surgery was tomorrow morning. NOTHING. He would get up and go to the hospital. End of story. I've been preparing everyone and everything for a week. Jeez, this may end up being a vacation for me after all.
:-)

See ya all soon.
