Commando 450

I had my title as Shower Head but then realized that anything that can be misconstrued as dirty or an innuendo then I get all the filthy comments.
So I changed it in hopes that those idiots stay away.

We bought a big rain shower head a couple years ago when we remodeled our master bath. It does not come from the ceiling however, it is in the standard spot on the wall. The power this thing has makes Rick very happy.
I would just like not to have to jump up reach it enough to lower it each time I get in the shower!  I love that he's tall but sometimes it's a pain in the ass for me. Reaching the vase on the top shelf is when I love it.

Suddenly we both noticed it wasn't as powerful.
I suggested we clean it with CLR.
Rick came home the other day with a small bucket and 2 big jars of CLR.
He took the showerhead off and soaked it in the CLR and then he cleaned a screen inside the contraption. Who knew that was there? What would I do without this weirdo?

Rick took a shower first and said, "Yes this is like it used to be"
I just laughed at him. The following morning I showered and whoa!
I felt like Kramer on Seinfeld when he got the commando 450.

That episode made me laugh. The super for the apartment bldg they lived in was installing low flow/energy-efficient showerheads. They all have flat hair because the flow was so low they can't get the shampoo out of their hair. They feel like they can't get the soap off of them due to these new low flow showerheads as well. Then one of them finds on the black market a commando 450 from Bulgaria.
At the end of the episode, they do all get a commando 450 and it knocks Kramer out of the shower. That is how my cleaned showerhead feels now.

Just like this. It's perfect!

That was a funny episode.
I have to admit I read your first sentence about ten times thinking what is a dirty innuendo about a shower head. I can be slow sometimes.

Every morning I get my shower and because it's new, my shower head is like that. I love it, love it , love it.
Enjoy it Peg.

Olga, I never thought of it but rick came to the office and saw I was typing and he saw 'shower head' and said to me,, so do you write porn now? So it was because of this sicko that made me think all the others would think the same. Even worse I made it two words which was wrong on all levels!

Paul, nothing like a new one!! I'll give you the meaning of stoop shortly

Those low-flow shower heads are a pox on bathing. My old apartment building had them installed, then instead of being briskly awakened in the shower, it felt like I was being peed on. Not the rousing welcome to the morning I was hoping for.

Eventually, I swapped it out for a more powerful one, then took it with me when I moved out.

And don't even get me started on when they changed the bathroom on and off switches from being separate for fan and lights, to making the fan come on every time you put on the light. I was furious but they wouldn't change it back.

You know, sometimes you need the fan, (showering, toilet time) sometimes you don't. (teeth brushing, shaving, contact lenses, hand washing, etc.) And with the fan on, I couldn't hear the morning news from the radio or TV.

I think they were trying to get me to move out, so they could turn the space for a higher rate.

I don't remember that episode of Seinfeld, but I loved that show. Now Blizdude (above) has me obsessing about getting a light and fan combination in my next bathroom. I would hate that as much as he did.

Jean, I too had that combo in an apartment I lived in and HATED it. Rick came to visit and changed it. Then when I left he changed it back for me. It drove me bonkers!!

Actually when I saw the title of your blog post in my blogroll, and before I read the post, I thought "Why is she writing about people not wearing underwear?"

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

Grace, that's funny. But better than giving or receiving shower head.

LOL I loved Seinfeld. We didn't have cable forever and so we saw a lot of the reruns. Scott is super tall so our shower head is way higher than "normal". My kids are so funny when they first started going other places that had showers they would be like I never realized ours was so high lol.

Margaret (Peggy or Peg too) said...

Oh Julie that is funny! If I leave the showerhead in the position after Rick uses it, it just goes over my head and hits the back wall. So before I get in I must lower it but it's so high for me to reach with no shoes on. I always ask him to lower it before he gets out but he never remembers. Next house - 2 shower heads. One for Peg and one for Rick. When he gets in after me it hits his belly. So we need our own showers when we get rich!

Maybe you can train him to lower the shower head like he does the toilet seat? Maybe not.
If I had one like that I'd take more showers instead of baths.
I was thinking of "no underwear" originally also.

Patti, I've been living with him since 1990. The toilet seat his mother taught him. But this shower head thing may take until I die. If that is in the shower imagine the irony!

Years ago when we traveled more than we do now, I would take my own shower head along because all the hotels put in those crappy low flow heads.

Mike, wow thats something Rick would do. Thats a comcommitment. Then you need to bring tools.
