Friday, August 31st at 10:15am as we were headed to the lake.
The officer asked if there was a reason Rick was driving over the speed limit.
We both laughed, the cop put his head into the window and Rick asked, "Is there a good answer to that question?"
The policeman laughed too and said, "well there could be a medical emergency or something like that"
Rick said, "No, just in a hurry to relax"
That made the smiling policeman laugh.
Unfortunately this did not prevent us from getting a huge ticket.
As Sammy says, "I can't drive 55!!"

Oh NO!!!!!!!!! Here's hoping that is the worst thing that happens on your vacation! It's all uphill from here!!!! But still...hurry up and relax ASAP! LOL! Have a safe and relaxing time!

My last speeding ticket was for doing 29 -- it was in a 20 zone which was literally one block on an otherwise 30 stretch so I fell into that speed trap. Still, who gets a ticket for 29 MPH?
I'm rather shocked that I haven't gotten a ticket. I always drive over the limit. The last time I got stopped was in the '70s and I apologized for speeding and told the officer I knew better. He didn't give me a ticket. I love Rick's reply. Too bad it didn't give him a free pass.
I"m so sorry especially because you were going on your vacation. I'm surprised that the policeman didn't even lower the ticket. I worry about police especially regarding my transformer Camero. They always are near me when I go out driving. Have a wonderful vacation & rest. See ya.

When you retire you need to move to Montana. No speed limits on some roads. Or Germany. The Autobahn!
I hope your vacation improved from that point on!

Well! That was fast. Literally.
Last time I got pulled over I was on the way to pick up my sick kid from school. That seemed to be a good answer, I just got told to slow down haha.
