There are the piles of dirty clothes that need cleaned.
There are no more bloody mary breakfasts.
There is the routine you need to get back to no matter how difficult that 5:30a call is to hear.
And then there is that dreaded scale.
Yes, vacations are for all things you don't normally do. Like eat a lot, drink a lot and nap.
Boy it was fun. Now back to reality and tight jeans.
But while I diet and whine here are a few of the things I did over my summer vacation.
Mostly of Rick and Izzy and most of those are Izzy. (Deal with it.)
I understand it was hot and humid every day I was gone up here with no rain.
Ah, it wasn't like that further south where I was. So much for a tan for me.
Our first morning on the deck with coffee in a sweatshirt and a pair of leggings.
Yep that chilly and I loved it.
It was beautiful to look at though.
It felt like a gorgeous fall morning and I didn't care about the weather I was not working.
Loved the fog! Rick kept singing, Smoke on the Water, by Deep Purple.
He was annoying, which I think was his goal. He achieved it I'd say.
In honor of the weather I drank Pumpkin Spice coffee. See it was fine.
But the fog passed and the day was partly sunny so all was well.
We only had 2 days of full sun the whole week.
Normally the same weather is at the lake but not this time.
This summer has been to me the best weather ever since moving here.
It's been so much cooler and that makes me happy.
I like summer but not the 100 degree+ and the 100% humidity.
That makes the summer of 2013 a nice one for me.
The following day, coffee on the deck.
Much clearer but still cool and again I loved it.
The other great thing about vacation this week every year is it is so quiet there until the holiday weekend. I love the quiet.
Here are a few more of my week away.
This is the face of a dog who is begging us to throw the ball off the dock so she can dive and swim. I am holding the football here and she is focused on it big time.
This was nap time after a lot of swimming for both of them.
Ah my poor tired kids.
This is the whole picture of my week right here. The damn football we have to throw non stop and our view. Honestly it is still better than working full time.
(I did a little work while there I admit)
This is Izzy's other obsession. Watching a lure move through the water. When Rick or my arm is tired of throwing the ball we do this. Unless he is really fishing then it's all Rick.
She will stare at this lure and if you make it flop she is mesmerized. But if you hold it next to her face she won't look at it. She will act like she is scared of it.
See? Rick really caught this one on a cold and rainy day. These two went out all day in the rain to fish. Nuts! Rick put this next to her and she freezes. Doesn't she look scared? She is so fascinated with it in the water but don't get it near her. She just won't look at it!
She retrieves her ball from the water and she would then run and hide behind this bush after she gets off her ramp. We don't know why she does this but it made us laugh. At first I thought, she must be peeing. Nope. She would just peep through the shrub and it just makes me crack up because I have no idea what the hell she is thinking.
|We don't know what these two are doing or who is imitating whom here.|
Katie's shoe fell into the lake. Alcohol may or may not have been involved.
But she's proud of her catch.
These two should get a room...seriously this dog doesn't leave his side. I am invisible when he is around. I just feed her. Otherwise she looks only at him and with googley eyes. I know, I know she can have all his babies at once. I don't stand a chance. Another chubby brunette in the house and I have to share my hubby with her.
I just like this shot of my hubby. This was a boat ride that went hay wire.
This was the morning Katie left. Rick still has puffy morning face and bed head.
But ya gotta get that last pic.
This is just because i love this face.
We went for a boat ride and saw some deer in someone's yard.
I don't have a good zoom so this is what it is.
Izzy missed it all. She was exhausted and curled up with her boyfriend.
There was a pattern here - this was in the car on the ride home.
Thankfully this guy didn't sleep.
Good time had by all. Tough getting back into the swing of things. I am neither drinking or eating for a long long time!!
Oh and I can't wait to tell you about the woman on the Friday before vacation. She was my last customer and she told me to kiss her black ass. Oh my that was a hoot.
See you all tomorrow.
